Why is it fast-forwarding when moving forward but just rewinding when moving backwards. Why isn’t it fast-rewinding?

I have a Sony VCR that featured Fast Rewind… actually I’m pretty sure they called it Rapid Rewind. It would rewind a full length VHS tape in 30 seconds I think.

that was HAD, not have… I donated it…

@asudduth: I had one of those too. It rewound a tape so fast I thought the darn VCR was gonna fly off the shelf!

my kids always called rewinding “fast backwards”
