Picture yourself at an intersection in the left turn lane. There are a dozen or so cars ahead of you. The traffic light displays a green left turn arrow and all of the cars in front of you make it through the intersection.
Before you get to the front of the line, the green left turn arrow disappears and you are left with a solid green light (there is no red left turn arrow) meaning you can turn left if there are no cars coming. Unfortunately, there are a ton of cars coming the other way, so you are stuck there until the light turns yellow.
When the light turns yellow, do you turn left through the intersection?
Apparently, not everyone does. I for one, will go on yellow every time. But a friend of mine insists you shouldn’t run the yellow if there is a green left turn arrow at the intersection. In other words, you should only turn left on yellow if the intersection doesn’t have a left turn arrow.
Which kind of left turn person are you?
